The 2027 theme, Feminist Rhetorics of Resistance, invites a capacious understanding of resistance that is often localized, multimodal, and sustained through existing—frequently feminized—networks. We hope this conference provides an opportunity to explore rhetorics of resistance that are intersectional and interconnected to ideas, theories, and practices of joy, rage, rest, love, protest, coalition, complaint, care, solidarity, and more.
We are excited to meet in Minneapolis for in-person, on-site concurrent sessions. We are also piloting two options for virtual participation, which are detailed in the CFP. You’ll see, too, that we offer a range of presentation types, with three new offerings: performances, works-in-progress sessions, and a pedagogy poster session. We are also piloting a new event—the Writing Group Kick-Off—which will help works-in-progress presenters connect with like-minded colleagues to write together for the 27–28 Academic Year.
We look forward to reading your proposals and hope you will make plans to join us in Minneapolis for the 2027 Conference. We will be hosting a virtual workshop for drafting proposals and collaborative brainstorming; more information about the workshop time will be available on the website soon.
In Solidarity,
