I am a second-year PhD student at Syracuse University where I am studying Decolonial Feminist Rhetorics from a Latinx perspective. I received my Bachelor's and my Master's degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, where I studied English and American Literature with a focus on Latinx and Caribbean Literature. El Paso Texas is not just where I received these degrees; it is the city in which I grew up and have had my own lived experience as a Chicana, and my lived experience is why I am studying Rhetoric from a decolonial feminist standpoint. Aside from being a student, I teach First-Year Writing at Syracuse University.
