I am the Associate Director of Writing for UC San Diego's Sixth College. I coordinate our lower-division writing curriculum and I train graduate students to teach writing. When I teach intro writing courses, I ask students to look at the intersection of culture, art, and technology within the field of gothic and horror literature and film.
